Relive

the 2026 edition

The 42nd edition of the Printemps des Arts de Monte-Carlo took place from March 11 to April 19, 2026, across 24 venues in Monaco and Nice.

Entitled “Utopies – opus 1”, this edition was the beginning of a new cycle and highlighted the instrument as an essential mediator between musical thought and emotion, exploring repertoires ranging from early music to contemporary creations, including Indian music.

Works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Claudio Monteverdi, Antonio Vivaldi, and Hector Berlioz were featured alongside contemporary composers, with 12 world premieres presented. In total, more than 80 works of 50 various composers were performed by more than 260 artists.

Several artists received special recognition, notably the pianist Jean-Frédéric Neuburger, who performed several virtuosic works by Olivier Messiaen, Pierre Boulez, and Ludwig van Beethoven, while also engaging in a musical dialogue around Niccolò Paganini, Robert Schumann, and Franz Liszt with violinist Tedi Papavrami. The program was further enriched by the participation of saxophonist Vincent David, organist Olivier Latry, and the Armenian jazz ensemble Yessaï Karapetian Quintet.

Alongside the season’s 26 concerts, a series of “before” events — including talks, conferences, and round tables — as well as backstage visits and commented rehearsals were organized to provide audiences with listening guides and a deeper understanding of the featured works.

This season also encouraged dialogue between different forms of artistic expression through visual arts (screenings in collaboration with the Institut audiovisuel de Monaco), visual and plastic arts (musical walks through the International Artists’ Residencies at Quai Antoine Ier), and performing arts, with performances of Miniatures, co-produced with Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo and the Ensemble Orchestral Contemporain, bringing the program to a close.

The visual identity of this edition was inspired by the works of painter Yves Millecamps.
