SUNDAY MARCH 22

FRENCH HARPSICHORD MUSIC No. 3

6pm – Salle des Arts, One Monte-Carlo

Being brought up in Germany in no way means that Andreas Staier is unfamiliar with the style of the French masters of the harpsichord. On the contrary, he is like Johan Sebastian Bach, who, at in his epoch, admired French harpsichord music for its ornaments and subtle harmonies. Worthy successor of Gustav Leonhardt and Ton Koopman, Staier plays his instrument with an inspirational freedom and flexibility of approach that is all his own.
